Cheers bro, this does look like a nice option.

I've allways shared wav plus midi, if my partner thinks that by changing a few notes in the melody line or bass or whatever will make it better, than he should, if I dont like it Ill change it or talk it trough with him, you can allways send the track files back and foward until you get the sound you both are looking for. In my experience the best workflow for this type of colab is for one to do like 4 min and the other do the other 4/5 min of the track but this doesn't allways works because sometimes one of us gets stuck, and if that happens he can send the track back to his partner. Its great to work like this, I have tried to work with buddies in the studio and it doesnt work as well as it does over the internet because in order for you to put 100% of yourself into a track you need to be focussed and I cant focus with someone sitting right next to me giving his opinion on everything, this applies at least for the creative part, the mixing is good to have 2 or 3 pairs of ears in the studio but also works well over the web because of different rooms and monitors.           http://www.MindDoctorsMakeAcid.com

You could sample the sound you're using and pass the midifiles together with the sampled sound.

I thought of that, but that seems a bit weird, i mean, you can even talk with the other guy and work together in the same daw application but it just seems weird, two dudes with the same pointer..

me and orgytime use a dropbox folder and both use cubase. Then anytime anyone updates a song, both of our folders get updated.

That, and we discuss'd which synths and effects we both have and use pretty much only those, otherwise we bounce synth lines out if needed.           www.musicproductionnatural.com || www.facebook.com/djamoeba | facebook page

simply synch them no matter what sequencers ,sync them (sync funtion for all others) togehter or rewire them (cubase, ableton, reaper with sth else).
ONe click for synch and set only tmc and the right port for midi of interface and tell who is master and who is slave and finito.
It goes all ways with a few clicks.Yesterday I synched logic as master and protools as his slave )
If it goes through the net, bouncing is best, maybe add midi notes as a special present.
