Hey ppl...
Is there an easy way for optimizing system partition, without formating/scandisk/defrag??
Itīs a laptop, and the OS(Windows XP) come as a full instalation DVD(with all drivers and etc). So I canīt simply reinstall OS at specifc partition.
For the info: itīs 100% audio laptop, no-internet, so no virus or spywares. It has just lots of programs installed, and I installed/unistalled some others. Samples, projects and data stored at others partitions.
The laptop is running fine, no need for fix indeed. But after some time I wonder if itīs good to do some cleaning(registries maybe), and how itīs done.
Thanks

You will still need to use defrag after a while but donīt use the one built in XP, Use the O&O defrag or diskkeeper instead much better algorithms, donīt worry about reg cleaning unless you install/uninstall alot of programs.
You can also deactivate all the services that is associated with dns/dhcp/tcp ip since youīre not gonna use networkservices, turn off error reporting.
Turn off animations within xp, turn off themes. check msconfig from the run menu if there is unnecessary programs launched at startup *takes deep breath* search for xp optimization with google and youīll find some good guides.
cheers!

O&O Defrag + 1
Amazing difference after a a couple of years of nodraging. Set it to the insane complete access mode. Takes ages but does wonders.
Also CCleaner is free, use it once and then delete it. Takes about 2 minutes and it gets rid of loads of useless rubbish

FYI, registry cleaners can mess your system up if you don't take the time to review what registry keys they are deleting, or are not knowledgeable enough to know. Always take a ghost/acronis image backup before you do this!
CCleaner has a nice cleanup type feature which will clear out temp files, browser histories, document histories, designated folders, etc. I use it for that everyday. Keep The Faith,

Thanks for all!!!
I guess CCleaner is the tool I want. I use also the O&O Defrag!!!
My wish is to keep the system stable for as much time as possible, as I canīt reinstall the OS without losing ALL my data(so I need to backup every time I need to reinstall OS).
My XP is already "tunned", just needed to know a popular tool for cleaning the registries, as I try out many plugins, and many of them are already unistalled.
Thank again!
