Lets say for example i have a sample of a sine wave, wich is a little bit distorted, is there a way to rebuild the clean wave,
like in logic, i can drawn with the penciltool but thats a pain in the arse, so just rebuild the clean waveform.
is there any tool or something, i hope you guys get what i mean , sorry for my bad english..

cheers!!           www.myspace.com/toxicbytes

for a puretone like a sinewave as you mentioned...obviously the easiest thing would be to use the tone generator & make a new clean one...but im guessing that was "only" an example

you can't do the rebuild waveform thing the same way when its a complex audio file.

the pencil tool in the sample editor window will help to smooth out small glitches (clicks etc.) in the waveform...but not really to "clean up" a distorted audio file.
i can explain it to you...but i cannot understand it for you...

I tried fixing a sample once by applying a low-pass filter. It kinda worked. It makes the sound less distorted but muffles it too. So, it may or may not fit your purpose. If it's a soprano singing Italian opera - you are toast. If it's a zombie laughter from a horror movie - you may get away with a low-pass.

eq can help alot, otherwise it depends on the kind of cleaning up you want to do. There are loads of 'cleaners' on the market, like PoM suggested. There are anti buzzers, anti hummers, anti noisers etc           soundcloud.com/supergroover

never managed to clean a distorted sound. i guess that's impossible by now

clicks, pops and noise can be removed though.

don´t get me wrong,
i don´t want to clean the sample (waveform), i want to rebuild it, like you have a kick sample, with a little noise in it,
i want to rebuild the main waveform of the kick,i hope u understand..           www.myspace.com/toxicbytes

depending on the frequency spectrum of the noise it usually is difficult to get completely rid of it. EQ might help a little, but only a little ! I don't think the drawing tool would help you in this case either. Drawing is what I like to use for klicks and pops, when there is a noise underlying things are not so easy. You might want to try z noise but I doubt it will work 100%

Thanks, for the advice. I used RX bundle for noise reduction and it worked realy well, I got better results then with Waves' X-Noise, Z-Noise and Voxengo's Redunoise. I will try that for distortion also.

maybe i got you wrong and maybe the way is not possible, but what came to mind actually was importing the file into zebra as "wavtable", load that one into the osc, go to "more oscX" (the one with the file for sure) section, adjust to taste there (correct, blurish or sharpen things) and have some fun.....

never tried, but guess works well

cheers

lava soap, and a brillo pad

seriously though, several subharmonics and partials, i think its impossible. resample it and pay attention to the recording or look for a better sample. or synthesize it in which case you can get a purer waveform

eq and fx are possible, but you introduce other variables also when doing that          Gamma Riders EP out now on iTunes and Amazon.com!
