this sounds really great, but i cant figure out how they did it..
any1 has any ideas on midi placement of the bass notes, and the amp and filter envelopes on the bass synth ?

It's a simple off beat bass as jizy already mentioned. Managed to make it close sometime ago using Rebirth. Great track, by the way...

i don t think it s tau pro this track have been realsed maybe 10 years before tau pro , sound like a offbeat bass kbkbkbk or maybe with bass at the same time as the kick but with not much velocity + off beat

Probably TB303, sounds like a kbb with the second bass on a higher octave programmed with an accent and the first bass on lower octave programmed with a slide to make them both sound as a single note.
The slide in pitch together with a properly set envelope will create that liquid round shape, with a slight overdrive to make it edgier. Tweak the accent level for more or less bite on the second bass.
If you are using a 303-type plugin, be sure to make the first bass note connect or slightly overlap the second one, and open the slide/portamento.
On plugins like tau pro, the accent is controlled through velocity and will activate above a certain threshold which you can set.www.myspace.com/gaiana_25
