alright if theres one sound out there which really captures my attention and cant figure out how its done it would have to be that vocal effect that sphongle and younger brother uses... its kinda like vocoded wah wah effect but sounds killer very psychadelik... i've tried with a vocoder but its not it. i also uses a heil talk box and no luck... its really fresh and i honestly would like to achieve such an effect... yeh its the only sound id love to imitate we all have been there with one sound at sometime and if i had to chose a sound to learn how to create it be this one.. im strucked and can't figure it out anyone can help??? peace
ps here are some song with it
sphongle - once upon a sea of blissful awareness - 4:25
younger brother - i believe the first song in album called a flock of bleeps 0:45
also a track called finger - 1:20 and at bout 6:00 man im blown away u all gotta chek it out!!!

really hmm im gonna give it a try ... do u know how he went about to obtain that similiar sound???
any suggestions or direction moreless would be helpful since im sure that application can be very deep in functions.. thanx |

I would say that there's more than just one effect or plug in. My guess is that there is some kind of FM modulation, some layering and also filtering.
But I think that you'll waste your time. It's faster to make something fresh than make something that sound like something else. In the end even if you get to it... everyone would say that it sounds just like shpongle vocals. Since we already have shpongle the world does not need another artist with the same effects.

I'm no expert but that sounds like a classic wah effect possibly sounding all the nicer due to the amazing sound of the filter on the synth they used for that part. Band pass filter and a hint of resonance with portamento turned on. That's as close as I can get anyways. Those boys at twisted do have some killer hardware though the likes I can only dream of affording.
Now that said I remember someone talking about this same sound before and it was some hardware unit effects thing which I can't remember the name of. It hand a manufacture name with letters and numbers...

Im pretty convinced that those Sphongle and Younger Brother voices are made with an Eventide machine. I think hes got the H8000 (or is it the ORville), doesnt matter its the same crazy pitch shifting algorithms. |

shamantrixx i really dont care to emulate its an effect that i like and would like to add to my tricks doesnt necessary means im biting off besides from learnin a technique i can create my own style to it... it;s like saying your all bitters for making ur basslines 16 notes... besides im sure u have runned into a sound that u really like and are impressed by it and would like to know how it was created in the end of the day u want to know how they achieved that so u can implement that to ur tools and create something different
from it cus sphongles is sphongles and psyaudionamics is psyaudionamics regardless we'll both do it different regardless but the concept is what im looking for its not an easy efx like a saw waveform with some flanger and detuning its a reaaly complex sounding efx...
that caught my attention as a semi-pro artist.

illusions thanks a million i cheked the demo online and it seems to be the solution after checking the video demo...
i wouldnt have never run into this application if wasnt fo u... aside from that effect i was looking for i also found a tool worth capable of other cool features for vocal processing so in quest to find a particular sound i ran into a application that would do just that and much more so i can take the sound i wanted to another direction more suited for my style .. lol just so guys like shamantrix dont say im a carbon copy...
everyone has been there we learn from others and thats how humans perfect an art new boxers study older fighters fights so they can learn and then from that they apply theyre own style art mimics itself just as trends come back but with a twist its human nature my friend...
no harm fealings though peace and thanks to everyone for puttin in theyre two cents like always i appreciate ur time in respondse peace and happy tweakings ! |
