This is something that i'm really looking into.
There aren't many people writing chilled out psychedelic beats here in Cape Town at the moment that I know of. Some of it is good that i've heard and some of it isn't that great.
There are a lot of techno producers... writing weird abstract beats who are extremely creative in doing their thing. Unit-R is one such label.
As for real chillout zones at big psy-parties... the only real semi-successful one that i know about is the Ohm Lounge... and they just dj all kinds of chilled beats.

Ja, also check out the Absolum party where a International-style chill/2dfloor will be operating - the Viral Lounge. The troopers have been playing around with the second floor through the whole winter season in preperation for our summer outdoor parties. It will offer quite a wide range of psychedelic electronic music from psychedelic ambient to psychedelic electro all the way to psychedelic techno. Real exiperimental sounds with three Live Acts and over 8 dj's. Ground breaking in S.A. in our opinion. |

Mmmkay...interesting,so the chill-out scene it's quite small as far as I can see (not that far).
But the chill-out Dj's you can see pretty much the same names everywhere or there is some sort of "lack" in the chill-out areas in the parties in S. A.???

There is a lack Justin.
Every now and then they have a chill tent with a DJ playing...but not often!!!
Could not say if there is a lack of chill DJ's......but def. a lack of chill areas.....and chill music being played.

mmmm...Vortex...Groovy Troopers.....
Thats all i can think of that will do a chill section.
Maybe some of the clubs or other parties...besides outdoor trance parties.
