How much to charge for jingle's

I recently got a gig to write a jingle, yet I never had a client ask for one so im kind of lost deciding on a price to charge em... can anyone with past experience please inform me how much to charge, and any extra pricing that i may run into while offering the service, it would be very appreciated, im sure this is not a question everyone on here could answer but i know a couple of folks here have or might have an idea how much the pricing for writing jingles are going for now days, thanks for viewing and hope i can get some answers today as im getting ready to contact em tomorrow and throw the pricing b4 getting started, thanks

as i know, it depends if it's a temporary jingle (for a campaign) or the sound logo of the company...

eole its gonna be for a cleaning company and they plan to use it in they're websites and eventually in commercials n on radio if the company has good results, so it's gonna be like a slogan... and part of their identity.

How big is the cleaning company?
What's the PRS revenues like in your country?
Who reserves the rights?
Have you been approached by the company it self (i,e, someone you know, works there), or an advertising company? (most likely).

Whatever deal you get, try to keep the copyright. Try to make a deal that each time they use the thing they have to ask for licensing right. a certain amount of money for the right to use it on the website another amount if they use it on a commercial on tv, etc...
If you don't make it like this and hand over the rights to them, ask for a lot more money. But as said above it really depends on the size of the company, and like i said above what kind of deal they want. On 2011-03-08 23:13, moki wrote:

okay i appreciate the feedback given to me
can i get a flat pricing rate if i was to sell em the rights -
and a quote more or less for how much i should charge em if i keep the rights... i tryed signing up for the site u pm me with remy, but i kept gettin errors??
while tring to register.... also if i keep the rights how much would i charge if they want to use in the radio and or for tv... this is killing me never done it but i don't wanna get ripped off yet i don't wanna over charge em and not get the gig... SOMEONE PLEASE advice me a reasonable quote.. with the $ sign hehe thanks guys I'll be waiting, but i need a $ ASAP LOL
