The lower notes are more expensive, bass at C0 cost 1$.
C4 cost 0.40$ cause its not bass anymore but if you promote and sell it for a
"moogish" type lead you can sell the C4 note at 1$ again.
In fact, it is very complicated, you can sell bell sounds to churches without bells more expensive than a dark/goth trancer.
Every din and dollar, something like that
You could keep and sell the dons for kitchens at restaurants, dons for the waiters, for less money of course.
Better study some marketing engineering
cheers

it might be a not-so-bad idea to try it out, as long as you only rely on it as a bit of supplementary income on your hobby. Over time, at the very least, you could put it towards website costs or whatever, which you could use for other things if you wished.

Its not the website cost that is the problem IMO though, its the amount of time you have to put into this for the potential reward.
Even if you become top of the food chain I doubt you are even breaking even when it comes to sample cd production.
I think it only makes sense if you want to break into the sound design business. Even then though it would probly make sense to setup something for free and if enough people get interested then come out with a premium line...But still only as far as building a name for a sound design career.. |

i think many samples should be available for free thats one reason i started www.learndigitalproduction.com
doesn't matter what the sample is an artist can find a use for it especially in psy with all the twisting going on and chopping. i can understand wanting to sell FX to movies etc. however you'd have a better shot at actually getting employeed by them to do the sound unless its a small indy film. then they may purchase fx. any film is going to have a dedicated sound fx guy that bangs on pots and scrapes knives across plates all day to make sound fx. and of course plays with synths.

the question for me is: why should i share my special sounds using for my special style?
would i want to be unique with my musicstyle/samples etc? can others do with my samplepacks maybe better music then me?? (joking)
then... choose your price. but for me its better just sharing some stuff with some buddys, then the masses
cheeRs & dont freeZe
