I am sure it already did the day the word psy was replaced with candyrave in the psytrance scene 
About being an engineer and making a living of it. Forget it if you are thinking about the psy (sorry candyrave) scene. There's no producer/ engineeer culture in this scene and absolutely no money to be made anyway.
If you want to play with the big boys it takes a lot of networking, education and a musical portfolio.
There's always smaller jobs in local studio's but those are not easy to get.
