I get surprised with the hardstyle market. TERRIBLE tracks getting promotion, huge festivals, djs driving top cars and accessing big studios.
dutch house producers and djs flying on private jets, to gigs...
psytrance will never get mainstream. there's a lot of talent. the people that stick with psy.. do for love and dedication imo.
Its all about commercial. No matter what kind of music, if it is heavenly music or devil's one. Bad, good, nice, warm, cold... it doesn't matter. Only commercial matters. I see this in my country: people scared to make a commercial in radio for incoming shows. because its not in hippy style... I'm learn in trade school that you can sell even a shit in a jar for 75835705984$ if you make a good commercial. There is a thousands of technics to manipulate people in every corner in every day. Just people must stop to scared to commercial. it's not that suddenly everyone in the world started to like dubstep, britney spears. someone persuaded them to do... http://www.beatport.com/release/cross-the-atoms/1042450 http://soundcloud.com/alien-bug http://www.facebook.com/ali3nBug

agree. comercial edm got bigger specially because of american. and the big money interests.
the commercial guys tour so much. and profit big. that they even don't care about album sales....
and their music is not amazing at all imo. some is BAD and low quality.
and they are sponsored by brands___

I think Bandcamp might be a good place to start, because for what i've read, you release your own stuff and get all the "credits"
