Please don`t understand this questions wrong (in sense of a ego thing).
I am just interested in it, to judge on what basis the statements in this section are based on.
With me it`s maybe around 200 CDs, collecting since around 2002 I think. Mostly psychedlic Chill, Ambient, now also drifting into electroaccoustic ... |

Not everything is on there though; I still have some awful trance compilations from around the year 2000 put away somewhere in the back of my closet
Been collecting good albums since.. 2006, I think. But I really don't know. According to my own categorization, I have 36 chill albums. Mostly Ultimae and Twisted, but some FSOL and compilations aswell. For the rest, I seem to have more rock/metal albums than psytrance (7 versus 5) |

Probably 200 as well, been collecting since 2005. There's simply too many albums to keep up with and I've had to be selective. And this problem seems to be getting worse as more and more quality artists and releases keep coming out...

Um, about 600, or more, just looking at my discogs collection. Been collecting since mid 90s.
I have probably been more selective since 2003 or 2004 when i really worked out what i like, as opposed to what i think i might like or think other people might like.
That number includes lots of electronic and ambient/experimental releases that are a world away from psychill tho - but still fall under the heading of chill and/or ambient to me - just not party music but home listening i guess you could say.
In essence it includes: ambient; dub; psydub; psychill; downtempo; experimental; IDM; electronica in general; glitch; midtempo breaks; dubstep; reggae; moedern (or neo-) classical; electroacoustic; and some folk. (just to spout a few genre names off the top of my head)
And yes, it is getting harder to keep up with all the good music coming out. There's only so many dollars that can be spread around an ever increasing range of labels and styles... |

I think I got something like 220-250 downbeat/electronica/chill CD's or so. I used to have a lot more but sadly all my vinyl (going way back to the 80's) and many CD's + my whole DAT collection and sample collection (a lot recorded by myself in various countries) was destroyed in a fire.

Haven't counted but reckon I have around 250 + ambient and chill stuff on cd and a few vinyl starting from around 1995, but buy way less 'psy chill' these days for a few reasons mainly because I struggle to find much that I really like in this genre. |

About 70 cd's I purchased sine 1998.
It got up to around 200 but cleared out heaps that are of no use to me a few months ago.

Been listening/collecting ambient/chillout since the mid-90's. My total CD collection is about 1300 albums with another 300 or so in digital only format. I'd say the vast majority of those fall into "downtempo/ambient/dub/chill" with maybe 25% falling into the techno/trance/industrial/pop/rock/metal/world categories.
I have all my CDs ripped to either 320K MP3(older) or FLAC (past four years) and the total size is about 700GB of drive space. I do this because one of my biggest fears is what happened to Beat Agency. *My condolences. * I could never replace what would be lost if something like that happened, so I regularly sync to an external drive and keep it elsewhere.
