Just a plain simply question to gauge how popular Darkpsy is here: HOW MANY OF YOU GUYS PRODUCE IT EXCLUSIVELY?

being the only genre you focus on that is?

That question is relative. What you call dark and what i call dark may be very different. I had this discussion recently and i believe that a lot of artists who get labeled dark aren't thinking darkness when they wrote the track.

No well of course, but Darkpsy is a genre... I mean that as in the genre itself,, DARKPSY being an overall genre

HOW MANY PEOPLE CREATE IT? regardless of individual sound, darkpsy as a genre jsut like psytrance as a genre... Its not that relative, in fact a simple question...

I.E hip hop producer X may not make the same hip hop sounds as producer Y but it is still hip hop music!!!

I'm unfamiliar with Darkpsy as a genre. Ive heard of different psytrance being labeled all sorts of crazy names.... hehehehe

I exclusively write what i call NightPsy. Dont know if it would be called darkpsy tho. What exact elements make a track belong exclusively to darkpsy genre? Bpm? Key? Horror Samples?

Would this class as darkpsy?

why label your art? there are plenty of other people who will try to put it in a box for you. just make what you make and let people call it what they will...           Are you connected to yourself?

well darkpsy is a style of psychedellic trance such as artists like: DigitalX, Sickminds, Catatonic Brain...

Darkpsy is what you call nightpsy, nightpsy just being another term for it other terms for the same genre include Horror Trance, Black trance and Killer trance... I dont make the names I only offer you an answer to your question.

No Im not labelling my creativity so you can quit that trash talk right there, it is a simple question how else do you wish me to ask it? "HOW MANY PEOPLE MAKE MUSIC?" Kind of defeats the purpose of the question does it not?

So you will find the question is very valid whichever way you flip the coin? it is a simple question that requires a simple answer not someone trying to be a smart-arse!!!

You cant or dont wish to answer then why even post a reply?

Uedi, some people I guess just cannot answer a simple question they have to always read more into it and try to be a smart ass!!!

What you call nightpsy is also called Darkpsy and killer trance or horror trance but of course how dark and how nasty sounds are is a personal preference of the producer!!!

Why print a genre on your flyer?.. Oh wait. So people know what music is going to be playing.

I'd hate to see the tinned goods section in your supermarket.

See I dont label my music into a genre although it is a genre despite how many people say they are not in a CERTAIN GENRE!!

thats bullcrap right up... It is inevitable to not make music in a certain genre. So saying you are not a certain genre when clearly you are in a certain genre makes you an asshole and ignorant to the peers who formed that genre when probably before you where even born!!

But all that aside, when someone says "darkpsy", we all know the music that they're talking about.

The original post seemed very straight forward to me.
