From an old post by Shahar if I remember well :

"just so you get the feel of our very small market:
an average trance CD sells about 2000 copies.
The hits sell 5000
Atmos sold 12,000 (or so Anti said)

Infected 25,000 from the first and similar from the second.

Eyal barkan 50,000
Halucinogen - Twisted about 85,000 and is the biggest selling trance album.
This is WORLD WIDE...
A relativley unknown rock band in NYC can sell about 10,000 copies of nothing.

the second Shpongle sold 100.000 copies.
the 1st sold 30.000 copies

I got the total figures sales about the 3 albums of Transwave : 60 000

here are some selected sales figures from Mushroom Mag [January 2002]
· V/A "Liquid Levels" [Creamcrop] 4.000 sold
* V/A "9 Pills" [Neurobiotic] 2.000+ sold
* SUN Project "Zwork" [Nova Tekk] 18.000 sold
* SUN Project "Paranormal" [Nova Tekk] 15.000 sold
* Koxbox "The Great Unknown" [Nova Tekk] 14.500 sold
* Chi-a.d. "Infinitism" [OOO] 3000+ sold
* Shiva Space Technology CD001 [SST] 9.000 sold
* Shiva Sidpao "The Album" [SST] 5.000 sold"

i bet that more than 100000 ppl know Spongle
and same as Infected Mushroom !

Yea judging by the massive hysteria that was at Shpongle's gig you might say that they are very very popular.
As for Infected they still have a lot of potential and i think that they will eventually break into mainstream as well.
Just like Juno Reactor did.

If you still consider Juno Reactor Trance then, that's the most sold ever.

And don't forget Hallucinogen was .... was it Sony? distributing it.

Juno Reactor didnt break into mainstream.. For me Juno Reactor show amazing progress into new territories of electronic music together with live elements and manage not only to succeed but to write movie scores in Hollywood... Their music nowadays is far from commercial, they pioneer the electronic music for more than a decade now and haven't got a bit cheesy - lots of respect for them

And yep - Juno Reactor are mothers of trance
