How many bars do you think makes a good intro?

Do you like older style intro's where it is one minute? 2 minute sometime before the beat... or are you very happy with 8 or 16 bars nowadays?

Running out of jokes, I really love very long intros that prepares me to the entry of kick & bass. Often, during the intro, i can listen sounds, effects and melodies better than in the middle of the song. Also during the parties sometimes intros gives me a nice break.
OT: another "old style" (?) habit that i like so much is to use as last track in an album a downtempo song (as Cosmosis does).
