forgot to answer about one more thing that people asked me:
About effects to put on the bassline,
well alot of people use quadrafuzz and it's nice but not so original is it?
a compressor would be good,
reaktor has some killer compressors like the "two knees compressor",
UAD got some nice effects that can be use on the bassline like LA and pultec and pultec pro,
nomad factory has some great effects like the blue series and vintage channel effect.
You can also use a good EQ for the bassline,
like URS bundle or in Waves series you can find good EQ's and UAD has some very good EQ's ("cambridge" is our favorite at the moment).
again there's no limit and there are no rules, just trust your imagination           --------------------------------------------

One more thing, I saw some one upload our track "mirage" as example, well in some parts of this track the bassline is on stereo and that totally changes the mix so keep in mind.

bit offtopic maybe question this one, but it got me wondering:

Whats the reason of your bassline is in stereo at some points? is it because you mean that its when there is special FX on the bassline, it becomes stereo, or do you mean you make it stereo of special reasons?           myspace.com/auralinvasion

sorry, but i'm afraid that i don't understand your question mate.
are you asking what is the reason that we put the bassline in stereo? well if this is the question then the answer is that we like the feeling that it gives when it's in stereo (again only in some points on the track), we actually use this kind of stereo in our bassline a lot in our tracks, it's kinda became our thing.
and no we do not put FX to make it stereo we do that by multiply the channel of the bassline, though there are some good FX for it, the best in my opinion is "Wide boy" or "Wider boy pro" by elvayata.
cheers
