Depends of the track !!
If i make it for fun, or to be released on a cheap compilation, let's say few days...including mastering.
Well, for my album i worked 4 years, almost every day, aprox. 12 hours on a day. hihihi
Now, let's split 4 yeas \ on 10 tracks and see how long i worked on a track !!!
Jesus !!! What have i done with 4 year from my life ?!?!?!
lol

It usually takes me about a month or so... But my studiotime is quite limited as well, so when I sit down and work I work effective! |

In hours: about 60-100 hours. Add to that the countless hours of re-mixing ("I'm not happy anymore with the mix of my older stuff having learned something new...") and it takes about 150 hours. But if you compare making psytrance with other genres, it is MUCH more timeconsuming... I produce a downbeat track that has (to me) the same quality as my psytrancetracks in a fraction of that time. |

Ooook I see... My tracks can take anything between 6hours to a week... looking at what everyone else has put down... I've come to the conclusion I should spend more time on my tracks... seems to be a better option than buying more stuff for my studio. |

true... besides psytrance i make downbeat music too and it takes me less time... but with psytrance tracks i spent a month or more and it worries me that if i take too long i am digging too much with the sound fidelity stuff and could loose the "song" theme and purpose if u know what i mean... i suppose i have to spend more time making templates of stuff i constantly use and optimizing my programs so i could throw up the music of my head faster.

As most people have said here, between 1 and 3 weeks. If it takes longer I try to start something new instead, no point in forcing a track to be finished.

I'm working on my second tune now, and been workin on it for past 2 months (i have time, but not always the focus)... but the process for creating a track is totaly new for me - i like to finish this one and then move on, but i will produce more efficient in the near future |

also between 1 and 3 weeks, not continuous as i have little time to work on it, but i agree with phobium it´s not worth to force finnishing a track, half of my tracks i leave them unfinished around 4 minutes, for me a crucial point either to finnish it up or leave it there if i lack of ideias, and start a new fresh one.

takes me anywhere between 50 - 60 hours to do a track. always best for me to get it over with as quick as possible, so not so much sleep while doing a song. |
