I did just read an interview in the mushroom with neelix, where they ask him if he even has time left for making an album.
He then says his last track took him 7 hours.

man...7 hours..thats what I need just to lay out the basic idea with a bassline and some perc....

Sometimes I nearly spend that time working on just one sound, just to delete it at the end cause it sounds like shit           My first track:

With good inspiration and workflow there could be a killer track made in 4-7days in my crib. Ofcourse there will always be after-fixes and mixing issues. But the thing will be there, if i have the time and flow.
In most cases.

7h seems abit to fast imo though, atleast for psychedelic trance

cheers!

For the album i spend like 1 month a track, i make step by step, creation of sounds, sequencing, mixing and adjusting more and more and also listen too mutch on other devices(also if possible on PA)for try to give the exact feel that i think at the start of the main idea...not simple to do, but very intrigating to try.
Need patience ohm, and you have to wait(or force) the right time to make some good idea, and force to do something good when the right time(inspiration) comes.
cheers

psytrance I only finished my very first track on cubase in one night on the first time I installed cubase.-) all others are unfinished or crap.I tend to go slow ..maybe its house what I produce sometimes..
Other music ,this times Im producing sorta rnb )) one beat till the end is up to 2 weeks with additional intruments recordings and voice recordings to the beat even up to 1 month. And it has to be finished .
Hip Hop from one night 3 beats and 3 demos to one year a track but mostly one to 3 days beat work and its done. The best one are done in a few houres.Maybe in 2 houres. Thats my expiriences.

Producing is like cooking. You have to spend just the right amount of time on what you are working on to get it just how you want it. Everyone has different tastes, some like raw, some like medium and some like well-done .           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

I usually use around 50-120 tracks, and takes around 2 months per track. (Cubase).

But I got a really busy life around beside producing...           www.myspace.com/enertopiapsy
