How is this lead's mix sounding?

So I'm writing a track and trying new mixing techniques on the lead to fatten them up and help them stand out.

How is this sounding? I panned the original signal hard right and a copy high passed at around 5k hard left. Summed, the signal is around -16db.

How is it sounding though? Do you think it cuts through nicely or muddies up the mix?

Also, when using that technique, how many times should it be used at once? Would two many leads mixed that way playing in those parts of the stereo field not work?

Any tips and comments on the mix are much appreciated!

Nah, just tweaked some knobs in Sylenth.

I've put a cut around 120hz in the bass, cleared things up a bit.

It sounds right, the trick applied to the lead works fine for me and i'll try it soon.

I think you can do the same for another lead inverting the pan.
