In Israel you guys must have a couple of psy producers per block... I wonder if you get along and collab often.
Here in Mexico most producers I know are very stuck up and usually guard their knowledge jealously but i do know a couple of very good producers, teachers and friends.
I'm still amateur and haven't played any of my tracks live, I dj set tho... but here the 'scene' is filled with destructive criticism and posers everywhere you look at... this increases when someone actually does good stuff weather producing or djing. Too much competition and just a few guys with real talent, skills and quality work.
I still have a long way to go, but sometimes i wonder if there are parts of the world with a more production friendly environment |

i figure israel are the country where people share their knowledge the most. i remember when i started to produce myself here in sweden, there where people who help me alot for sure, but mostly people who also just started, and it was fun to share what u just learned passed trix back and forth to eachothers. But the ones who already released stuff and knew some more where mostly silent and u had to be a pain in the ass to actually get something out of them hehe i have no problem to give few tips to rookies nowdays, i find it great to be helping out with shit that took ages for me to find out myself. Nowdays tho when more people are producing, the new wave of people seems to be more open minded here.
cheers!

it's like that no matter what creative modality you choose...

my experience was the same as Wizack here in france.
about sharing knowledge i have noticed some talented artistes i have met share, they know if you use the same bassline it will change nothing for them.they are well known for their talent and not some eq settings or what synth they use.while some other really hide stuff or tell you bullshit (more the young ones ,sometimes they have a big head , traveling, getting few bookings and think they are rock stars) |

I can see lots of technical help here (on IsraTrance) from Axis Mundi. Also, Willsanquil shares every single tip and trick he discovers. It's quite amazing actually: he's only 4 months ahead of me but I learned more things from him than from established producers. I never met any producers in person, though. Would love to meet the Asheville crew some day - pretty sure they are not the jealous secretive type. Not as certain about the West Coast folks and expats to Portugal, though.
I take it back – plenty of advice from Mubali around here too.
Well, I am sure your question was not about who posts advice on IsraTrance...
I know some Asheville people collaborate or just bounce ideas off each other. Don’t know how common this is nationwide.

Zero Community, where I live here( bedfordshire /UK)
[BTW those artist with artistic jealousy, I feel sorry for their closed minds and short-sightedness. I for one get turned off by artists with such poor character, even if they produce very good music. I just can't listen to their music no more.]

I know two people that share the same love and taste in trance, as I do.
One of the is one half of Disco Hooligans, Jordan.
The other one is one half of Ohmnidrive, Panos-"Audioform".
With Jordan, we had planned to do this years ago. Then an kid from school (well he used to be when I knew him, he is like 30 now), hear about me making trance, tunes and wanted some hints on how to use Logic. So we had a few sessions, like two years ago and his skills have developed exponentially until today. So we live like 25km away and have sessions.
Its good to share knowledge, you should never hold on to it, you should always pass it on. Its good karma.
