hehe funny topic

depends on what type of liveact you have, of course. if you're one of the guys who have everything bounced to wav and just press play, well you can do a lot of things on stage, from shagging some groupies to smoking a shisha if you're a real live-musicans, you'll have your hands more than full if you want to stay in time with the music

Live acts, for me nowadays is to plug in you computer and press play. thats what ive seen in lives.
But if you want to do a live concert, than be prepared..its not easy. and if you play alone your f#&%ed

If you really want to play it live i'd recomend you put all your beat (Kick + bass) in to seperate wav files or even a full wave file. And try do remore your mutes, you can do them live.
do the same thing with the rest of the drums and your effects and secondary leads. use Live to play them all together and play your main leads live.

There are things that can help you like multiple pcs (even better if you dont play alone), to play you leads direcly from the synth keyboard and to have other instruments on stage.

It seems there is little you can do on stage, but if you put your mind to it there is plenty you can do.
You can even put in a mixed cd of yours and just press play, but then you should use your spare time do do something, 'cause you shouldnt have spare time..           Super Banana Sauce http://www.soundcloud.com/knocz

well like every bodies knowthe live acts nowadays are simplier thanbefore but, it doesnt mean to be just push the bottom play and let the pc do all the things, like i saw before much of news artist just play it, and rather not to be a live act. has good music but lost all magic in the spontanious..... like you do i just need all your messages........ thanks a lot

man , you should really use the search function. there is a lot written on this subject and u dont wanna miss it.
anyway, what i do for a live act is having as many separate files i can per track, (usually 6) using frequencies and kind of sounds/instruments as reference on how to divide them, using Ableton Live as main sequencer and live host (although i produce and export my tracks from cubase sx 2). Usually its kick+bass, percussions, hats,fx and 2 channels for the "really live" part. in one i have a virus (new toy!) indigo for makind leads/arpeggios/pads nad tweak them the more i can, without distorting or overwhelming the master, another channel is also for tweaking, this time is with virtual instruments and midi controlled by an oxygen. i use mostly vsts: minimonsta (cool weirdo fx), discovery, and albino 3. I always have preprogrammed midi sequences on these, makes it easier but still feels "live" enough, and work on the knobs (filter/cutoff).
All the tracks have some sort of "mastering" or to call it right, just some discrete multiband compression and limiter (Waves C4 and L2) on Wavelab ,previous to that, trying to get an uniform sound in terms on gain between the tracks of the live, and not far from a pro mastered CD, so that if u play after a dj set, the sound will not suffer. And just to make sure that the sound is really pumping and keep things under control i put PSP Vintage compressor on the Master out of Ableton. That really adds some crunchiness, but is always better to do a soundcheck if possible, so u can have the right settings on the mixer.
hope that helps....           www.soundcloud.com/elektroakustica/sets/downtempo/
