I wondered myself....

Are you talking about the Ambient zone, Chill-Out sessions????

Or about how the ambient, as the scene here in Brazil??

Anyway, iŽll answer both...

The Chill scene, is not very big, the organizers canŽt afford to spend to much money, in chill artists... so, they try to bring the best national artists... like Trotter, Pedra Branca, Boom Babaji, between others...

In Festivals, the chill-out is very good, very high quality artists play in our festivals. Names like, OTT, Shpongle, etc...

If you r talking about the Brazilian scene........ well, there is much to talk about, good and bad aspects... so send me a p.m, and iŽll be glad to talk to about it...

big bOOm...

Almost all Big Artists, specially in the full on genre already played here. If you like full on, Brazil is a country in which you will see your favorite artists playing.

However most big parties here look like shopping centers. 95% or more of the people never saw an original psytrance CD in their whole life. Everyone say they love psytrance, they're PLUR and all this kind of bullshit. Tons of drugs of all kinds at parties. Lot's of "pseudo-psytrance-intellectuals-cult-people" and "DJsWanna-Be" that think they are "above others" just because of their 120 Gb HD full of killargh unreleased (mostly fake). Most things at parties are not as psychedelic as they used to be, including the music. Usually there's a lot of trash on the ground, demonstrating people's lack of education and respect for each other. Two or three times per year I went to these parties, and I do have lots of fun, mainly because I'm with friends and I abstract the trolls and ogres that don't respect nothing.

On the other side, far from the Big Names of the commercial side there's still an underground scene with some parties, which you will possibly not find at http://www.baladaplanet.com.br
I'm not saying the Underground don't have a lot of problems, it does have, but at least people are there for the music and it is still psychedelic.
Respect!           .

...I don't mind not going to Heaven, as long as they've got Coffee in Hell...

we also have small parties with 200-500 people which are cool. tip is: if you can find a party in baladaplanet as mentioned, it will be the way full_on described (mostly; of course generalization sucks). but if you have a friend who will invite you to a private party (real ones), don't miss it.           Bhavatu sabba mangalam
