reason and cubase can interact (on the same Computer) using the ReWire. about hooking two computers up, i have no clue.           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. We See Things As We Are" -Ancient Chinese Proverb

One of the two computers has to be your sync master, running Cubase, for example, on its internal clock. In the synchronisation settings enable sending MIDI Timecode (MTC) via a MIDI out port.

Connect the MIDI output of the master to a MIDI input of another computer, the slave. The MIDI In port of the slave now receives MTC, and the software has to be set to recognize MTC on that MIDI port.

Synching via MTC will allow you to start and stop the slave when you start/stop the master. As an exact time location is transmitted (in hours:minutes:seconds:frames) the slave will also move to the same position in time as the master if you change your song position on the master. When synced to MTC, the slave usually ignores its BPM settings.

Another method is using MIDI Clock instead of MTC. As no exact time information (in frames) is transmitted using MIDI Clock, you will only be able to start/stop the slave in sync and transmit a Song Position Pointer. BPM's synch automaticaly in this mode, but you may experience some problems with the song position pointer, which is not as precise and reliable as MTC time information.

MTC is better, but some software/hardware only allow MIDI Clock.

Hope this helped!

ramsak is correct - choose cubase as master, send it's clock over midi out and catch the MTC with reason.
if u have cubase sx - maybe u should read about the vst system link.

i would of course prepare a playback track in case something goes wrong, and would even play it simultaneously on a silenced stereo channel into the master mix - just in case u get a bluescreen d:

good luck.
