my suggestion...

try software synths first. move to hardware synths if you like it and get better. groove boxes are useless/needless for psy, in my opinion. if you like the 909, get a sample cd.

edit: check some of the sticky threads on the top of this forum. they'll help.          The IsraTrance MySpace Group:

If you live in 1997 it is an advantage I have the 505 for 8 years now and it sucks (now) for making psytrance, believe me. (And those pro: don't start with 'you have to tweak it right") These days you're much better off learning a soft sequencer and soft synths, maybe then after buying monitors 'n all you can buy some decent hardware synth. Big nono imo those grooveboxes these days(though I learned quite a lot about programming on that 505).

Just get sample library of this groove box, groove boxes not that usefull unless you perform live and drums is the only thing you do. This thing is dying!

Totally redundant. Unless you are playing live or dj with it.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

Only if u get it for free

Else save the money and use it for pc and software.
Even for playing live a notebook is better. Best one only for drums and perc            Signature

i would spend the money into a midi-controler.
in combination with the right software and maybe some samples you got much more for your money

never trust anyone that is trying to sell you something.

trust isratrance, your own personal jesus christ.

monitors are always a good choice for an investiment. make sure you have some money to throw around. i have been shopping around for months and i havnt been satisfied with budget monitors, so i must save my pennies. i suggest you investigate.          The IsraTrance MySpace Group:

Try to invest more money in better monitors, i can't believe you wanted to buy MC-909 which costs much more than dm20. Try to invest at least 500$ on decent monitors. Try Yamaha MSP5 if you have no 500$, they are way better than Roland's.

If the groovebox really sounds better than all your vst'z - it's worth it.           >>> FOR SALE: Mac-clone OSX86 Audio Workstation <> Perfect computer for Logic 9 Pro <<<
