I like making dub music, not dubstep though (wobble is not my taste). There is a lot of possibility with "step" style production, lot's of good practice making interesting percussion.

chilled dubstep.. djs play it in lounge caffés in the uk, during the day too. that is not very common here
skrillex sound is more club oriented, banger style.
if I produce dubstep I would do the dance type too.

you can make super dancable dubstep and make it not sound terrible tho. to me the loud shrill midrange-y stuff is hard to dance to. easy to make tho.
hehe, here's an example:
it's kinda interesting how easy this stuff is to make. what with all our synth noodlin talk, i'm sure if we all took some time to make dubstep, we'd all be gods in no time.
personally, i find this sort of thing much more enjoyable and dance-able

cool. but the reggae style dubstep is too ganja soup imo. sloooooooow and sleepy.
maybe it's just me. I'm more used to fullon, I like to see dust on the df

+1 for dubstepforums... but skrillex, really!?!?!?!
maaaan. it's times like this i have to cool off, smoke a phattie, and say "yeah, well, that's just like, your opinion, man."
i love some dubstep (i post about making psychedelic dubstep often enough here hehe) but skrillex is terrible imo!!! well, to each their own of course
however, i will admit that some of his basses DO sound fat (in the way that eskimo's basslines sound fat, or new school gms leads sound fat, if you know what i mean )

forget eskimo, listen to some eskmo
yeah this skrillex track sounds quite diluted by some of the older headbanging clubstep (?) ... and the pop remix thing is quite wannabe if you ask me.
still listening to some of the tuney stuff coming out of there though, this ones pretty hi grade cheeze ...
