Here's the psy-trance I visualized when flying over a vast spacious red dessert, over Mars, during a mellow twilight.

Its a funny thing that has been happening to me lately, probably the really good smoke I've been having at studio sessions, but lately all I think about in my head, is that I am floating in empty space, as the tune takes form, a planet appears in the horizon, according to the tune's vibe, the planet has a distinct color, then as the tune develops further, I get closer to the planet, and dive down to its surface, that depending on the tune, its a wild alien jungle (Avatar style), or a rocky empty endless desert, flying towards a two sun system sunset (Star Wars a New Hope style hehehe)....that kind of thing...etc.

Its a cliche I know, but it makes my music making a lot more adventurous and I like it

Ahaha... man that is great... beautiful way of visualization. Gonna try it soon!

Nice to see this thread brought to life.

I have soundcloud blocked here at work but i will check ur tracks soon.

i visualize way more than psytrance can describe. so when i try to visualize it it gets engulfed by the bubbling psychic ooze of everything else in there.

now the most important question here is if you could make music that sounded like what you visualize .. would you still be making psytrance??

not everybody is a visualizer, and if you are not, it does not mean you have no imagination. so if you say that visualizing on music is easy, it maybe goes for you but not for everybody.

I do think everybody visualize, but the word is tricky.

Everybody has dreams.

true we all dream but that can be a mix of pictures, sounds and feelings. what i mean is that some people tend to make a picture from an external influence, others a sound, others a feeling. depends a bit on your personality, like its hardwired in your brain. thats how they talk also probably (you get the picture?/ does that sound logic to you? or you feel the same?). i f.e. hardly visualize, not even after a drop or two.

really?

That is a shame, dude...

Visualizing is a complex topic, i don't always draw pictures from or to my music but if i close my eyes on any kind of music i would see many stuff (even when sober).

Most of the time i Visualize myself as the only human present in either a forest, desert, dark valley with a waterfall and some weird plants and flowers growing all around. Im either sitting there and looking around to see new creatures emerging out of the wilderness to greet me and communicate with me or I go ahead out of inquisitiveness to explore the place to find more NON-HUMAN life forms... As I explore further and keep going deeper into the wilderness / desert / lonely valley etc, I do finally meet a unique life form / creature / non-human life form / supernatural etc.. and we end up smiling at each other... as if to say hey the MUSIC is what brought me here, its a pleasure to meet you

Then when its time and all good things usually come to an end, we have to say good bye so we both turn away and start making our way back to where we came from....

Now this scenario is often the same but the characters, place, situation and emotions keep changing depending on the intensity / BPM / type / Style of Music (Psychedelia) that im listening to.
