Do you only control parameters that you may change during the track (like filter-cutoff, resonance etc.) and make the other settings with your mouse or do you also control more "static" parameters that you won't change anymore (like eg. waves or so) to get the feeling of a "real" synth and get rid of the mouse?

I use my midicontroler (behringer bcf2000) to controll softsynths........ like for instance I've got the albino on all my cc's ... so +- 127 knobs to play with!! (just for the albino).. I can do full syhtesises thru my controler... feels great!! (can't compare with hardware-syths... yet)...

keep on twigling!!!

do you really need the controller to store the layout ?

cubase/nuendo allow you to store your layout - makes even my small oxygen 8 quite useable

nice one / i don't use cubase or nuendo though and i'm very comfortable with the way my current controller is working - got a memory preset for each of the vsts i'm using most but i'd like to control other stuff too (mixer mostly) ,thus 8 knobs/8 faders are a bit low            Peace, Love, Death metal

i usually just assign things to the knobs that i use most in producing a sound (cutoff, res, etc.).

its all about knobs! its just fun to twist and turn.

i work out basic melodies too, but then i move to the key editor to finetune it.

the rest i do by mouse.           The IsraTrance MySpace Group:
