Can someone give me some tips on how to use ascending and descending minor scales, becase I don't really understand how to use them. I know how to play the scales, but I don't really understand how to make music with them. Let's say I am playing single notes and suddenly I want to play a chord. Can I use either ascending or descending scale regardless of what I have been playing before? I know I can do whatever I want, but what is the most common use? Any tips welcome. |

Yeah, probably. It's a pitty. It looks interesting. But difficult. |

I just found the concept of my next song. I'll try changing between the ascending melodic minor, the descending melodic minor and the harmonic minor scale of the same key. |

Nuclear science ...
I think the mellodic scales are more natural then the harmonic.
Acording to the name, going up the scale use ascendic minor; when going down change to descending or just use harmonic for both actions.
I wouldn't expect a major difference when shifting mellodic scales.

What's the problem working with minor scales?
The same it works with major scales..
If it sounds good - then it's good

No problem, it just that you have one major and three different minors for a key - worth a question, and yes sure, almost forgot that universal "use your ears" thing ...
