Simple question i guess, but i've searched high and low and can't find an answer. How do you slur notes (midi) in cubase, it to do those long bass rolls from high to really low without actually hearing the notes, just one smooth sound. Thanks in advance. |

dunno if this helps or if it is what your really asking.. but if you cut the high freqs and some med freqs in vb, and messing a little bit in the vb knobs like 10 in the damper and a bit more on the other on.. (i cant remember the name) you might get a more smooth bass...
althought maybe for what you want another synth would be better.. hehe dunno |

I'n not sure if this is what you mean, but anyway: Just draw in two overlapping notes in the sequencer, one high and one low and let the first note start a little earlier then the second one. Then increase the 'portamento' parameter on your synth, and the sound will drop from the high note to the low one. The speed of the transition is determined by portamento. |

I think he's asking about "stutter".
If thats the case, its all about the Split tool. Then move stuff on 1/64ths quantize. |

glide or portamento , my thoughts as well , it's the feeling of a slide or a streche...
well , first it dependes on the basic form of the wav , it lentgh , shape , sustain , and any other element.
if you working with samples let me give you some cool trick...
use layers bass line ant after setting up correctly each sample to overall result (and by saying correctly i mean if it sounds good to you!) now pick one sample and reverse it. now
draw a little pattern and within draw 1/4 or 1/2 bar note.
now loop it and adjust for bettrt results.
i know its a poor explaintion but pm me if you didnt understand i'll be more detailed.

i'd change pitch with cc-messages... if it's possible... otherwise portamento indeed... u can make the sweep very sharp (like a hyperbole instead of a diagonal line) by gradually decreasing the portamento while nearing the end of your pitch-sweep... |
