Aeon > this is the type liveset i will be preparing soon also. Do you think it will be a headache making this in cubase compared to ableton live?

And what about control? is it quick & easy to switch between what you are controlling?           myspace.com/auralinvasion

the impression i get is that it would be more difficult to set it up initially in Cubase, but i'm sure it's possible. the only stumbling block might be inserting FX for processing live audio - i think Petran had problems setting that up in Cubase. but i'm not sure at all...

best bet might be to ask Colin OOOD. he knows his way round Cubase and Ableton, and whilst iirc OOOD use Ableton in their livesets, i'm sure he'd be able to advise you as to the relative merits of each iirc you guys know each other as well? (i'm sure i remember hearing a wicked track of yours that he mastered)

in terms of switching:

to change between synths i just swap midi channels using my midi controller, which is really easy. because i map all the vanguard filter cutoffs to one rotary controller, i don't need to re-assign many parameters live. i can leave all the midi channels permanently armed in live, because it only receives midi from the midi channel you select. audio tracks are a bit more fiddly - i need to individually arm each audio track when i want to play it.

overall i find i have a pretty good balance between control, creativity, and freedom.
