Hey there,
the thing is i've been trying for ages to run logic's esm bass synth on cubase, because i heard it was possible (something to do with the spark machine plugin).
I would really apreciate it if anyone could explain to me how this is done.
i love that phat bass
thanks in advance

Unfortunately it isn't possible unless you run 2 different machines and midi sync them together. Logic's native plugins are in a completely different format that what Cubase sees plugins at. Another option is to sample your bass in Logic and import the bass waveform into a sampler...

no. the ESM is a completely different format than what is used for 3rd party synths and fx. As far as I know there is no way to run logic's onboard fx inside any other sequencer except for Logic.

I think Mubali is right... the better way is to export the ESM as audio (u can bounce it), and use it as a sample in cubase.
I heard some people who use cubase do that. Thats why logic rules... ES2, ESE and ESM. |

hmm... well if anyone figures it out, let me know... That's one of the reasons why I haven't switched to Cubase yet.

i know there are some progams that allow you to create virtual inputs/outputs, but this would mean having to open logic and cubase and using them together, something that does not make sense at all.
but there must be a way... for example i use vb1 on ableton live, i just copied the .dll and live was able to run it with no problem
it would be very nice to be able to use esm in other programs...

All of those type of things support VSTs... The native plugins for Logic are not vst format... On a slightly related note, are the native plugins for Ableton live in vst format? I didn't think that they were, but it would be pretty cool if that were the case...
Or, what about the tonic for cubase... The one thing that I have never quite understood about Logic was the fact that their filter fx weren't too great... An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines. |

Ah... yeah I knew about the EXS-24 VST instrument, but was kinda hoping that there was a way to pull off the other instruments too...
Anyway, Colin is the tonic for Cubase a vst instrument? I am a filter geek and sometimes the filters I normally use (Antares, PSP Nitro) are a little too expensive resourcewise for my computer...
