Hi, I was wondering how to pull an overall track back 5 milliseconds in FL studio. Lets say I have a bassline that I want to have coming in 5 ms earlier, what would be the easiest way to acieve this in FL?

Thanks in advance!           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

Use the delay thingy just below the track's built in eq. I think that works.

The delay compensation can only add delay right? like, my uadplugins have some ms delay, which you can fix by giving the master these milliseconds of delay and routing the delayed channel (with the uad) straight to your output (soundcard). So in your case: route the bassline to an efxchannel, put 5ms delay on the mastertrack and your basslines jumps in 5ms earlier. When it comes to rendering, it's a bitch. i don't like the delay compensation in FL, live does a much better job here.           http://www.soundcloud.com/bandarlog

Fat Data, what delay thingy, wouldn't that have the bass come in 5 ms later?

Bandarlog, I was thinking exactly along your line, except for the rendering. I guess the best way might be to bounce all tracks out split mixer and then importing the audio files into Pro Tools, where this can be done very easily. but all that rendering is very time consuming which is why I would love to be able to do it in FL directly...

Thank you both!           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

There should be a delay setting with negative values, so RTFM.

Just tried that Pipe, doesn't work with negative values, unfortunately.           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

why not just pull it back in the arrangemnet or in the piano roll? i mean you should be able to calculate 5ms manually?

or am i totally lost? if FL dont have this option why not do it in PT that you work with and do most work there?

no

set the channel delay to "pre" instead of "post" and use positive value

hmm yeah I know. Tried it for the uad-issue and didn't work but I guess that's a different story. Can you negatively compensate incoming audio (due to latency which is set at 47ms for optimal performance here)? Seems odd, like going back to the future
