I like to be close to the left speaker. that's my spot. if it is too crowded it is just a matter of start dancing going from small movements so you can "introduce" yourself to the ones around then as I start to get in the flow of the music the movements can be a more "open" and since I always bring good energy to the dancefloor (with out being a monkey) people tend to give me my space.
When a monkey comes I just given'm space. I cant' be behind someone who is dancing pretty hard if I don't fell like dancing hard. And to be honest a good looking girl in front gives me good inspiration to start dancing.

I vastly prefer outdoor events, but that's primarily because I need double the space of a normal dancer in order to completely express myself without endangering other people....such is the price to pay of being a poi spinner
Was stuck in the back-corner of a bar last night because there wasn't any other space for me...don't mind 'regular' dancing but the potential for reaching that 'special place' is much higher when spinning...

well, no. but THAT was someone like me I remember a fungus funk party i had been to and had a little too much of cid that day.. the sun shining bright felt like fire on my skin while i couldn't get enough of the music even after standing inches away from the speaker - got me a little paranoid in the beginning, because the only other guy who was as close to the speakers looked calm and focused as if he knew exactly where he was and what he was doing.. not that i didnt, but yet the vibe got me startled! anyway, eventually i closed my eyes and lost it completely and when i opened them i saw quite a few other people joining in and dancing with the speakers Nothing is said that has not been said before.
