In alot of songs, a cool reverse/ granulizer effect has been used on vocals. I've tried to just reverse parts of of a vocal, but I can't seem to achieve the effect that I'm looking after. The effect I'm looking after has been used in the intro for Madonna- Get together (from the Confessions on a dancefloor album). It's also been used in Shpongle- Outer Sphonglia.
Do anyone know of a plug in that can do this job?

I listened to Outer Shpongolia and there are about 5 vocal effects in it. Any chance of a sample clip?
Suffice to say, I don't have the Madonna album

Hey there Joker
I havent listened to the effect your lookin for but heres a good idea for processing vocals to get that club like reversed vocal sound. It involves using a reverb such as roomworks and then when the time is right (during the playback of the vocal) "hold" the sound by pressing the hold button on roomworks. Record and bounce this "hold" sound and simply fade it in so that it sounds like a reversed/stretched vocal. You would then want to find an appropriate place to put the sample ie: right before the vocal sample. Of course... this is just the beginning of what u can do. Put some fx or a cut-off filter on the "hold" and play around a bit.
In terms of when to "hold" the sound, use ur ears and a lil bit of trial and error.
Hope this puts u back on track, or opens some ideas.
Cheers

Nice tip Aiyro.
A simple idea - reverse the sample, add a reverb, bounce, then reverse to have preverb. If you add a little flange it can sound good on verbs.

The reverb definitely starts before the vocal, so it has been applied while reversed or (I have heard) there are preverb plugins that do the same job.
Aiyro's 'hold' idea is very smart and worth experimenting with.

Happy to help. Yeah... I heard about preverb plugins too, though havent found any (havent searched either. hehe). But if ur using a good reverb plugin then i guess u dont need preverb? or?
oh and just for fun. The same sound ur lookin for i guess this cracks me up... if u like family guy.

Family Guy - awesome. Another episode with a vocal effect springs to mind; Peter gets an Aaron Carter microphone and everything he says comes out all high pitched and stuttery.

not sure if this will help, but rverb from waves has a feature to reverse the reverb tail. so use reversed reverb on a reversed audio file. atleast that's how I use it most of the time.

you could also try to send all the vox through dbGlitch or Livecut or Supatrigga, record everything and cut the best parts out of it, its reversing, pitching, stuttering...
