You know when there is a break in a song, and then when the kick kicks in the first one starts with full on power thrust, and sort of propells you foward then back for the second kick( much more than simply increasing vel of first kik)
Could any one impart some of their valuable knowledge and tell me(and others) how this could be acheived???

A bit of cutoff filter on the first kick maybe?

for example Domestic Human Bass... 1/2 way through when the song kicks in it comes in with exxxtraa thrust... this type of thing gets people all the time.. its used a lot but i was wondering what type of sounds with what type of fx could acheive this. I think its not the actual kick but another sound...

I like to take the sound of the kick drum
and to play it in reverse before the real kick-drum kicks in.
it makes really nice enterance to the kick |
