Ok man sorry but I did not even bother reading more than half that. Some kind of browbeating of me for being interested in etymology or about the domain name of the etymology web site? Mixed in with a bunch of other stuff??? Well, my patience for decoding disjointed, deliberately obscure, and probably pointless psytrance mysticism, especially when expressed in a disparaging tone, is at an end. Thanks for the laughs though. |

Here's how I feel....
Huge festivals are great. I love them. I go to a couple every year and they are, without a doubt, the highlight of my summer. It's great to freak out in the woods with hundreds of like-minded freaks, getting down to some of the best and biggest artists in the psytrance world.
However, small, local parties are really the lifeblood of the scene & always have been. Although it's fun to see big artists do a "live PA" (which is usually clicking "play" on Ableton), you probably have some local DJs who can rock a dancefloor just as well. You can rent or borrow decent sound, and promote on the cheap (especially if you make ample use of Facebook, this forum, and other sites). You can get the whole thing done for a few hundred dollars or less, keep your admission price low, and have a damn blast.
Talk to people, network, and reach out -- you'll be surprised at how many people will be willing to help, contribute, or lend gear/deco.

 all in good fun sir. I suppose it just takes a certain mood, and sometimes when I read your posts it seriously stops me from being able to think in a manner which is enjoyable to my brain. Other times its absolutely hilarious or a fun satirical puzzle - I think my post above when taken by itself looks quite cynical, which was not my intent

and yes, this forum is absolutely chock full of nonsense topics, people posting their 15 second copy/paste kick/bass patterns, using subjective terms to try to objectify music, bitching about dark etc. But there are also so many great people selflessly sharing knowledge that has been of great use to me and countless others
