how do i use the ROUTING system in cubase???

hi.
i want to use mid/side effect . and i know that i should do it with the ROUTING in the INSERTS of the channel.
(in cubase sx3)
there is some plug-in called -VoxengoMSED
my Q is: how i work with the Routing...
and how can i put some effect on the side and leave the mid as it is (without any effect on it)
