How do I use a synth as midi instrument at Logic 5?

Hello people, I bought one killer synth (Alesis Andromeda) , but Im facing a hard time trying to find out how to use it as a midi instrument and not at a audio track as a friend told me...using it from a audio track sucks because u cannot have the midi info fast....How do I use it inside logic 5 as a midi instrument and get instant sound at piano roll and all midi facilities?

Logic is midi EXTRA-friendly man ...
I don't see how come u can't find it 
but anyhow,
among the audio tracks, u got midi tracks also - they are usually the last ones on the list.
just create a sequence in midi ch1, and play it - I can assure u that if u connected the midi out to the synth right, u will hear ch1 of the synth playing.
if you don't have any midi tracks in arrange, just add one from the menus.

...hmm... i m not shure about that, i work audio only, but if this advice from trip (...trip is for shure more the logic master than me ) won t work try this:
choose "all midi channels" @ the midi-instrument and create a multiinstrument.
probably u ve to tweak something @ klickport.
check also the songsettings --> synchronisation.
...but try first trips tips ;-)=

Hi guys...well the problem is....I open aone audio track with in 1n2 to listen the synth and one midi instrument that I created inside the midi enviroment BUT now what happens is that I cannot record for some reason the midi note sequence, just the AUDIO...I heard that I must change some kind of midi config inside my synth..damn,,

Try fiddling with these parameters on the synth itself:
Midi local on/off
Midi thru
Within this timeless gathering,
