Wavelab doesnt record 'coz you are using ASIO driver in FL and Wavelab uses some default multimedia driver thereofore it "listens" to another source. As soon as you cannot use ASIO driver in 2 applications simultaneously (correct me anyone if I'm wrong) you can't record you FL signal that way. What soundcard do you have?

whell... u can record what u hear in wavelab even if u use asio in flstudio and wavelab... only think u need is ur asio card to be multichannel. that means u need to have 2 separate stereo out and an stereo input.
than press play in fl and set the recording to be hardware in wavelab so the signal that u output from stereo 1-2 to be inserted into stereo in 1-2 in wavelab.

i have a terratec phase x24 fw card and a soundcraft compact 4 mixer.. i press play in fl and use both outputs in my soundacrd stereo out 1-2 goes to monitors and stereo out 3-4 goes to the mixer than from the mixer record out i send into soundcards in 1-2 the signal that goes to wavelab for record using in the settings the hardware option for recording with inputs 1-2.
monitoring through ur soundcard inputs must be disabled or the volume down or u will have some nasty noizes coming out ur speakers.

you dont need anything exept FL mate
shut down your wavlab as a start

now in the channel where you selected your input (is that the mic from other topic?)
there is a small floppy disk icon in the channel (down)
once you click this it takes you to menu where you choose where to save the recording file.
ok choose your folder and now click "record" (next to the play button)
whatever you do will be saved as audio file and automaticly will apear in your playlist , in the lower half of the screen , now you can edit chop and move as your wish.

I did try this. I pressed the disk button, chose a filename, and hit record in FL. Then I hit play, and all hell breaks loose. It records for 6-7 seconds, and then it goes into lag mode, and then saves the file...

I know I can do it with wavelab, cause I have done it before, but I have no idea what I am doing wrong this time.

I have a M-audio Delta 1010LT soundcard. And I use the 1/2 output (Mono output). Shouldn't wavelab be able to record what's being played, if I choose to set my output device as the same I have in FL?           www.xun.dk / myspace.com/xundk

I'm just not sure if I understand what you mean... Should I connect (with wires) my 1/2 output to my 7/8 input, and then for monitors connect the 3/4?

I can get wavelab to record everything that is being played in winamp now...
But when I record what is being played in FL, the sound gets very laggy, but at least I now have sound input in wavelab...           www.xun.dk / myspace.com/xundk

I just found a much easier way...
You can just add "Edison" in FL studio to the master channel on your mixer, and then hit record... you can only record 99 minutes, but what the hell...           www.xun.dk / myspace.com/xundk
