Hey guys, i have been trying to make this specific sound for my track, i never even get close to what i want it to be, i think the sound is so brilliant i just have to make it, but how, is the question

It goes through the whole song, but you can hear it best at 3:10 due the distorion of the bass.

its so damn brilliant            http://soundcloud.com/li-fe

I said I like it dirty, not muddy.

i think is a short synth sound, square oscilator, a little bit of distortion, high pass filter modulated on 1/2 lfo speed with 40% Resonance, and a 1/4 ping pong delay with 60 % feedback.
the trick here are the notes that are played, i don't know a lot about melody, but i think is pretty simple 4 short notes in a major scale or maybe is an arpeggiator...
i hope it helps           VA - Spiritual Science out now!

Well, it sounds like it, i'll follow your instructions and try to make something ut of it, i dont know what synth i should use, but i think i'll go for my graintable synthesizer... Wish me good luck, i also dont think there is an arpeggiator in there.

i disagree when it comes to the delay though, i think its gotta be added on effects to make it pan that way.

i'm truly having problems with this one, damn
i usually get at least a likelike sound of what i want to have, but this is just so far from the result as it can get.

could anyone give it a shot, to try to make a sound-alike? just if they have spare time? so i'm sure the recipe is safe and sound?

pun intended.

try synth1: http://www.geocities.jp/daichi1969/softsynth/Synth1V112.zip
i am sure there is delay
maybe it's not 1/4, try 1/8, 1/4d, 1/8d

it's really not a complex patch           VA - Spiritual Science out now!

Something tells me that Gold rays, are sounds that are undescribeable and unrecreatable.

hece the fact some goy would sell his car to the guy who tells how to make gold rays.
xD

stupid.

also, i downloaded the VST

i'll download fruity loops or something to use the synth in, bounce it and sample it some way, if i ever make it            http://soundcloud.com/li-fe

to make it simple: a goldray is that typical uprising filtered noise that is the basic transition of most psy songs.

sorry to have lifted this secret...but i see this question more often nowerdays ^^
