I know that sometimes those bass kick questions can be a pain in the ass to see, but remember that folks who are asking are really trying to learn...
And what are we here for anyway?

From my experience on bass & kick, it is almost impossible to achieve the perfect 'gel' between them in a bedroom environment. Recently, I got a kick & bass combo (in a Cubase cpr file),from a friend / artist, which sounded strange (meaning it would need still a lot of work IMO) in my bedroom monitors, but perfect on any other system I played it! It's hard work for sure...

Neh, it is not that hard, just use same frequency for both of them and you are set.
If your room resonates to certain tone don't use that one as a tonic but nowadays i can make them sit well in any untreated room.
It is just about the bass sounding like a continuation of the kick "tungada-tungada" |

I keep on reading all these threads on EQ and various brands of “gel”. It’s all great advice and it does sound “better” somehow when I try and follow it (the kind of “better” you expect from “artists whose names end with –ix”). But I keep wondering: how come I never-ever hear about all these concerns from classical musicians? Can’t say that I cringe and start wishing they EQ-ed the hell out of every instrument and put it all through a coloring limiter or what’s not, when I sit at the symphony. Somehow, I don’t hear any phase interference, mid-range mud or a need to gel together cellos and violins there. Hmm…

well, when they violin or whatever is made, they have taken resonation and everything into account, so classic instruments are practically built to sound well together |

You dont have to be ashamed or hiding under the words 'Just kidding' , Your subconscious is work in here and its ok ,
There is no any joke in here so talk directly next time and save us all those guesswork because here is a place to learn
and not an entertainment amusement site show , If things bother you .. We are listening .
For your question the answer is by hearing and for the sound .. Years will tell .
All the best .
