not supose to be , asuming your track is longer then 6:30... psyshop/saikosound/arabesque also have samples before sell ..
and btw , i can recomend peaples here to have some trust . i sent my demo's to milion labels , agreed to any contract/no contract.. and now after some time im getting well paid.. (even for those older trax , the cd has been sold and profits do come adventualy)

one thing i would try and do is send to labels which you know release your style of music. i get a lot of people sending me links and cds of music which is totally not in our style. (note that i have no objections to receiving all sorts of music but with regards to the label i ll spend more time listening to it and answering the artist if i feel he/she knows what style we release.) it seems a massive waste of time (for everybody involved)to send melodic full on to a non-melodic night time label for example.

yes we also send our demos only to the labels what we know to release similar tracks (darrrrrrrrrrrrk) what we do. it's funny to hear someone sends melodic tunes to a night label.

i think some people go through isratrance stats page and pick out everybody who is a label, then send links to all of these not really knowing anything about the label or its style.

And what you guys can say about how necessary it is to send well enough mixed (and/or mastered) track?
Are they mainly interested in idea and music itself or in your sound producing skills? |

i think the new ideas are more important than the sound quality cos if the label has a skillful guy (maybe an artist) to master the tracks you can make miracles without expensive studio equipment (ok if it sounds like a commodore64 then you are in trouble). i hope i'm not alone with my opinion.

it would be nice if someone (label owner?) start one of those mother threads giving some input on his label, and the type of artists he's looking for (killer is not a style, btw :D)

in my point of view...
that some what "indefinition" to "where i am going so send my music", "what kind of music style" does a label is looking for!
it reveals some "non-working well" comunication between the musician-label-consumer/market..
it reveals to,.. the miss of professional or well-oriented formation in this different "stages"
somewhat its not a problem at all, its more like a situation, but something it can be worked better
...in other hand, we see new porposes,.. for example: musicians with new ideas (sometimes with non commercial end).
..we see labels releasing records, (..others like cytopia, with an interesting, respected, concept of work!) someothers respecting or non-respecting the ethic/legal rules!
different directions happening simultanious, not ease situation to control! ..but! decisions and choose can be taken for all the "stages"
..for a musician that seek to release is music,.. the platform chosen,.. it will release a feedback from the consumer/market..
the own i call strategie used in finland: antiscarp, mikseri, etc... its very important!!
especially for the musicians!
and work in different point of views..
my congratilations for them!
.thank you

lets say , an artist completes like 4-5 new traks and would like to send them to different record lables, does it make any sense sending the same traks to different record lables, what if 1 record label would like to release a trak, but many other record lables already have it, pls explain this
