How do I get more serious with music-making?

Hey all!!! Ive been using Rebirth, Acid(the software) and Soundforge for a while and im` starting to feel that ive` reached the limit with these (exellent) programs... Whats next? Qubase VST with a synth` or should I look up other softwares... Ive` got some money to invest (2k-5k) but whats my answer... ....Boom shankar..! |

Then go buy a synth! (I hear people screaming nord...)
You can get the Micro-Q or Virus Rack (both about 4k). No keyboard on them but they are very good synths. |

Ofcourse you have to remember that a synth alone will not do. You need a sampling station, mixing console and some effect box as well, so go for a cheap synth (nord or micro modular) + some decent audio card, and complete the rest with software. |

go for a lead synth get a tight sound card... and editing software to lay out your stuff - try out sound forge to capture your sounds to wav or just record midi data - so Soundcard > editing software>lead synth (example- Korg Prophecy,Nord lead 2,Korg Z1,waldorf XTK,Access Virus.. whatever you think will work..use Rebirth! Reason...etc :-) |
