As far as i know, you can't help it, in your first question.
And i can't help you on your second one, because besides that it is very general, it's not clear what you mean, especially after you mention vanguard.
A friend told me once that the biggest mistake we make is that we believe we live, when in reality we are sleeping in the waiting room of life. |

thanks man. what i meant was, i can make straight sounding patches on vanguard, but i cant get absolute control over it.. for example, azax can make his analogs sounds exactly the way he wants them to. can you hook me up with some tutorial videos or something? wanna understand the logic behind analogs... |

being a musician myself man, i can tell the difference between desperate attempts at mocking asounds with randomization and visualised sound.. |

to extract acapella (voice only) you need the instrumental version of the song and than put it on top with Phase reverse so the vocals will come out clean.
to clean low level noise you can use Noise gate or X-noise or De-esser

@ sachar,
thanks man. it's exactly the kinda advice that i was looking for. i dont have a problem with reducing the noise level and clicks/crackle, but how do i implement the phase reverse thing you told me? i mean, which environment do i use? and is there any particular vst phazer that you recommend?

you need the original file and the instrumental file to be the same quality.
when you phase reverse an audio signal and put it on top of the original. phases are canceling eachother.
because 1 contain also the Vocals and not just the instrumental - the Vocal track will pop out clear and sunshine.
putting 2 waves on eachother should be super precise for this task and not always you can get the Instrumental version at same quality.

"beSweet" is very good tool to split dvd-audio into 6-channels (for PC).
front left+right is are usually the voices.
you'll need to resample afterwards ...
