haven't you tried to open them with arj or
rar ?
e.g. games use extentions .pk0, .pk1, and these are only pkzipped files with this strange extension. the same goes with winamp: all their skins are zip files.
so try ..

interesting idea bilbo! However neither Winzip nor Winrar managed to open it. I think that Propellerheads invested some time in encrypting them.

i didn't mean u only try winzip & winrar.
try all the archivers [especially arj, and mac archivers]
or maybe try googling on "propellerheads refill format spec"
