How do i cut samples???

Hello ppl...
I was lookin for some help in cutting samples from videos and movies. Till recently i was using winamp to cut my samples frm the video files, but now i have been facing probs with my winamp.
Could you guys plz suggest me some other methods n softwares for doin tat.

soundfordge...and any other editing software ...
i use for mac / wiretap(the name of the software)

search on www.download.com and look for:
avi to wav
mpeg to wav
etc...
there's a ton of good programs.. Try out some demos and find one that fits your needs...

Hey , iv been looking for 1 too , can u explain how its done on winamp .. and what new one did u find ? I ran thru a ton of of software but couldn't find a easy simple one

anyone can recommend me a program to save all the waves from all the chapters from a dvd into a wav file?
i need concrete program recommednations, not `check google im sure you will find one`

im using this software called free video to audio converter..... found it on download.com,
this site offers a variety of kewl options to choose from.
n @ mk47
i wud suggest not to use winamp for cuttin out audio frm video.....its a bit complicated using that method.
