This video has nothing to do with trance, but the music is from this group the Afro Celt Sound System. They fuse electronic and Celtic folk some, i think its sort of neat:

Thanks lads nice to join up a forum where people actually reply to posts!! So many where most topics are left without replies.
@makus: My dad has been trying to get me to do that for years would ya believe lol!! The Lonesome boatman is one im definitely gonna do sometime as its such a beautiful song.
@ The Bap:P - I know of them but never been to their nights. I have no social life with my job so very rare hit the town. Its psy trance isnt it??
Friend of mine from london who ive worked with on tracks before has started up a new Psy group called "Cathar" with his girlfriend who I hope will shine in that scene. They work so hard but are so underated!!

(Especially if some one pro with he can play like 3 or more sounds in the same time) , Ill may stop him one day and record some sounds into my Olympus VN6200PC .

i think with a little imagination anything is possible. Of course we used to have nrg irish trance anthems or somthing like that name out years ago which pretty much ruined it for everyone!! Most cheesiest album ive ever hear lol. . . And worse it was no1 for ages ha!!!!

sean - not sure where they are from, i think its people from all over (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afro_Celt_Sound_System).
I definitely think someone should work on irish folk + trance! I think it would be easiest to start as a downtempo project though, verging on ambient, then once the style is more defined up the tempo. Usually easier to create new ideas that way.

Sure I do. It is beautiful.
Just listen:
But not only Irish stuff, basically I do love folk music, especially with developed melodic content. Jewish, Balkanian, Georgian, Celtic, Indian, old English rebel songs, Gypsy... It brings a LOT of inspiration to me.
