Heyo!
So it's been a while since i ever made a sound design question but... this time i'm stuck for sure.
I have no way around this, and i think i sat for 5-6 hours straight playing with different velocity, voices, resonances and external distortions.
This is impossible for me to brain. But HOW do i recreate the lead at 2:39?

Well, after putting 70% Decimate, 30% overdrive and 10% of clip distortion, then 2 phasers and some heavy EQ i ended up with a reasonably good mimic, still missing a little fuzz and formance but... yea
AND wow i've never actually tested the ringshifter, it's super cool!

To me it sounds like FM as well.
I'm getting pretty close with my Virus TI and without any distortion added.

Definitely FM. I think your close though, as of now. The original is a bit cleaner - more fm, less distortion, and EQ liberally to get that high-end clarity.
Yeah, using FM8 I can get pretty close.

TBH i'm a horrible FM designer, and it's not like lazyness or anything.
It's just so.. vast and ... idk. FM synthesis makes me feel really dumb because i can't do it. hahahahahahaha

Sugerbytes Turnado is also a monster for getting to that organic sound. Can really spice up a track. The other day I changed a normal drumloop into a talking creature, walking in the nether-realm looking for his mate.
