They have Rihana, Beyonce and Kelly Clarkson songs in the top 50 thus invalidating the coolness of the list but still...
What are you thoughts on the list?
I find it really silly. As much as I appreciate Outkast the specific song they have in the first slot is far from impressive.

I'm pretty sure I've subconsciously heard a lot more from the list though, but I don't recognize all that Beyonce crap, nor can't I remember any titles of tunes I accidentally hear on the radio or TV.
I don't think this list is too bad; not worse than others at least. This one features quite a few amazing tunes indeed, from the likes of Sigur Rós, Explosions In The Sky, Godspeed You Black Emperor! and others - bands that normally don't enter such tops.
However, my Top500 would look pretty different.

coolness is determined by what you listen to rather than what you listen for ...if u make such statements u coolness ranking drops to a below -55c...which technically is frigid which beyond cool and chilled...but most peeps go from 0 degree cool to 32c hot if you know what i mean  it means ur a nerd. well gotta go

There's some pretty good stuff here mixed in with the stuff I don't know.
Bat for Lashes "Daniel" was far too low however. The world's a twisted place. It's nice to see the postal service in there too... however it's all definately in the wrong order.
