How can I transfer programs from my nord rack 2?

How can I transfer programs from my nord rack 2 to cubase sx3? The 40 programs is soon filled, but i dont wanna throw the goodies away=) Heard something about sysex, anyone wanna xplain it for me? Thanks! |

if you have the manual (or download pdf) its explained very detailed 
it will be under "dump"
it is sysex indeed
another great option that can be helpfull for future live sets is the pcmcia expansion card , so you can travel with your presets (offcourse possible with cubase+laptop too) |

hello, is this the nord rack 2 or the 2x? I have 2X and it has a lot of space, I believe its 999 slots? |

Hi thanks everybody for your answers=)
Elad-> I checked the manual under dump, but I only found info about the possibilities of dumping and some codes. So that didn't solve my problem. Maybe I misseed out on soemthing? =(
Ansolas->How is the program you are referring to working? Is it a seperate program that are using sysex just to transfer the files from and to the computer so I can save my presets in folders on the computer?I'm also gonna google this prog =)
Somarobotics-> "It's Nord Rack 2" so not much mem=(

Oki, maybe that program is exavtly what i need..no dont got the mem card..dont want it either at the moment..I want to organize the patches in my computer.. |

Alright I tried the program MidiQuest and reached my goal to save and backup my presets=) I can also use drag n' drop to create a bank with my selection of patches=) Awesome thank you everybody for the help...Maybe some day I'll learn how to do it in cubase i hope..but for now i'm satisfied..
But when I already got your attention, maybe you can help me with another Q?
Please tell me how I can do automation for my Nord rack in cubase? I'm working on a track and want to adjust the FM-amount as the lead plays..So if i use this example, how can I do this automation in Cubase SX3? Maybe i need to create a seperate midi track for this..I have tried that and other things, but i it just a little bit harder than working with VSTI's =) Would be really happy if there is a solution for this to..thx! |

Oki Elad btw..now I found the explanation=) When you said 73 i tried too look for it but didn't found it. Reason was that i used the manual for 2X, so now in the right manual I see it=) Thank you! |

And also I found part of the solution for the automation in Cubase, I just press "show automation" and select the proper CC to be able to do it. But still i can edit a knob in realtime by using the mouse on the automation track in cubase, but when I use the knob on the rack nothing happends. I tried to create a seperate track and i choosed the RackmidiIN as the input and the RackmidiOUT as the output, but that didnt work either=( So my goal is to record automation in realtime on the nordrack 2 in cubase SX3 using the knobs on the rack. It have to be possible and the soultion is probably quit simple but I dont find it..Would be really happy for help..=) |
