U can also use rats to run a wheel n produce some eletricity. U might find some strong rats because they cant ger tired in the middle of your set. Other possibility, is to prepare your stuffs (cdj´s) next to a waterfall, so u can make your own eletric source of power. And the best 1 i think...u can make a party inside an atomic submarine so u can plug in your stuffs on the reactor?

Interestingly, or not, a few years ago I was listening to a ethnomusicology programme on the radio. The ethnomusicologist (what a nice job) grew up in Kenya and he had returned to record some music by some of the local tribes. One afternoon he went to a hill where an old guy lived and the guy started to play for him. From what I gather, the instrument was some sort of gourd with strings attached to a neck (like a kora perhaps). The noise, or resonance, that came out sounded DIGITAL - that is, it sounded electronic and made me realise that electronic sounds (if not the electrickery) have been around for a long time - it was certainly a nice sound.
On a slightly different note (haha) Indian bhakti and classical music can get trancey - sitars are getting near that electronic sound barrier - played well and quickly they can be very trancey, if not completely electronic. Ravi Shankar was head of All India Radio by the time he was 33 - so keep up everybody... |
